Technology is most valuable when it helps people do their work more easily, securely, and effectively. That means keeping the basics reliable while also looking ahead—removing friction, simplifying the way we work, and giving faculty, staff, and students the tools they need to teach, learn, research, and serve.

This year, the partnership between the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Office of Innovative Technologies and the University of Tennessee System’s Department of Technology Solutions took a meaningful step forward through OneIT. OneIT is more than a new name. It reflects a shared commitment to work as one team, reduce unnecessary complexity, and deliver technology services that are more connected, consistent, and responsive to the needs of our campuses and the broader University.

The work highlighted in this report reflects that commitment. We strengthened the University’s technology and advanced major efforts that support the University’s future, including the modernization of student information systems, expanded AI capabilities, DASH Research, and stronger research computing and data services. Just as important, our teams continued the day-to-day work that keeps the University moving—supporting classrooms, securing systems, assisting researchers, connecting students, and helping departments solve problems.

There is always more to do, and that is a good thing. The University continues to grow, technology continues to change, and our responsibility is to make sure we are ready for both. This report shares the progress made during 2025–2026 and the momentum we will carry forward as OneIT continues to build a more secure, efficient, and innovative technology environment for the University of Tennessee.
